Look Ma' no <tables>!
Introductions Matchmaking - IntroUSA.com
Introductions is the premier matchmaking service of Denver, Colorado. They needed a clean quick site that would be easy for Search Engines to crawl and but maintain an enticing design. We employed an entirely CSS controlled design that's still sexy without a singe <table> anywhere!
Standard.
The entire design and layout is accomplished with cross-browser and cross-platform supported CSS 2.0 and HTML 4.01. All the menu roll-over effects are created using CSS instead of graphics providing lightning fast downloads. Graphics were used as they were originally intended; to display content that can not be rendered otherwise i.e. photographs, not for text and hidden spacers.
Content flows in a single contiguous block so it's easier to update. And because the layout of page elements is controlled in a single .css file the design can be updated in the future without having to touch the content.
Mostly.
Though we strongly support web standards we aren't rabid about it. We even have a Flash element on the home page to bring in some movement in and make things a little more dynamic.
Tweak here, a tuck there.
We also provided help with tweaking copy both from a marketing perspective, but also to make the site more search engine friendly. All links are coded in a directory based format "www.introusa.com/contactus/" instead of "www.introusa.com/contactus.shtml" this makes the site URI's more
permanent
. Even if their server technology changes outside links continue to work, not to mention they are easier to remember for visitors. ![]()
